The Guild had a really great first season, they won a whole bunch of awards and Felicia even got to star on an episode of House. They’re starting on their second season and even with a big name like Microsoft behind them it’s hard for me to say they got a bad deal. They even kept creative control.
I was adamant that we be able to retain ownership of the show and have the creative freedom to keep the show close to its roots and to our fans. We started filming Season 2 on DVD proceeds and my own money, but in the middle of filming the first few episodes, Scott Nocas from Xbox Live approached us and they proved the perfect fit. They will be helping us reach out to new audience, as well as allowing the show, through the Microsoft network, to be seen by anyone across the globe who wants to: Still for free!
They even talk about translating it into several languages, one would assume to reach every part of society that’s been effected by internet gaming, putting it all over XBOX while still costing me nothing. I don’t think you can get much of a better deal and I think more and more we’re going to see these kinds of deals being made. We’re a smarter generation, we’re going to tell people no when it comes to deals that are far too good to be true. Of course we will always have the morons willing to do or say anything just to be on TV for a few minutes, I just hope the number of these people goes down in the coming years.
