Bill Maher Was Right

I have a feeling like I’m going to be saying this more and more before the end of the year. This is a bit of great news though, probably the best I’ve had since the election, Obama has yet to attend Church.

I disagree with the majority of responses criticizing all the reporting on this, while it’s a huge issue they’re all missing the larger point: organized religion is no longer the highest concern for the nation. This is an amazing leap forward for our nation, I could whine all day long about how his economic team probably isn’t going to follow through with his ’socialist’ progressive tax system or all the Zionist’s he’s appointing (to which all notions about these people are 90% theoretical) but this one bit of news brings me hope. Finally a president more concerned about the people, more concerned about his own health, more concerned about making a difference in the world than appeasing some fake voice in his head.

Of course this won’t help the Muslim conspiracies out there, but even if he was he’d be an equally as bad Muslim. Despite any criticism he may take we can finally say this is the first non-external-religious president we may have ever had, and that is change we can believe in (get it?). He’s still got his personal faith but he keeps it to himself, his own relationship with god is his own business and he doesn’t need to go to a church every Sunday to prove it to us. It’s why Bill Maher was right, he’s only really doing this to get elected, he doesn’t really believe the bible is the literal word of some god, or that his answer is always the right answer.

Some people may say they voted for the lesser of 2 evils, I like to think of it as voting for the lesser of 2 ‘religious’ people. This trend will continue, this trend will shine through and these religious nuts will get the fuck off my country. It’s all downhill from here, the president has the power to set the tone of the nation, the days religion has tax free are numbered.
