Republicans Looking for Record Losses in 2010

At first I didn’t think this was so serious, some republican from Texas claiming that he’s a little uneasy with Clinton being Secretary of State since her husband has a hard time letting the public know about who donated money to his charity. Fair enough, I’m not dancing in the streets about the people on that list and I could see how others may live under a rock and want to take a second look into it. However what I won’t stand for is what has happened to Eric Holder.
Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee forced the panel this afternoon to delay by one week a vote on sending President Obama’s nomination of Eric H. Holder Jr. for attorney general to the full Senate for consideration.
So what’s the big bad thing Eric done to deserve this?
βIt could well be there will be a request to delay the markup for a week so those questions can be asked and answered,β Cornyn said. βPart of my concern relates to his statements at the hearing with regard to torture and what his intentions are toward our intelligence personnel who were operating in good faith based on their understanding of what the law was.β
That’s right, because Eric Holder was so quick to call waterboarding torture, like any rational human being with half a brain would, republicans want to do everything possible to delay his nomination. They fear that people who tortured people innocently would get punished for doing so, boo fucking hoo.
I can’t predict the future, but 2010 is aiming up to be the greatest year for the democrats, and many even independents, since 2008.
