When you think about it, and I mean really think about it, and I mean like really really think about it we should treat more humans like dogs.

In fact, when you go to the doctor the doctor shouldn’t first be concerned with your health (and if he is, you know to run away as fast as possible), we’re going to make sure your doctor, or possibly someone else you’ll have to pay extra for, will give you options on how to deal with your health associated to how much it costs. So while that cure would normally be $5000, you could see maybe think, “hey let’s put off this surgery cause next week they’re having a half off special”, or even better “look at this one a day pill, 30 bucks, and all I have to do is take one for the rest of my life”. The health denial panel this person was subjected to has in many cases made matters worse, pay no attention to the fact that the failure to cure now will cause emergency room visits in the future, where the entire system is built so that you lose EVERYTHING to the insurance companies (the famous republican line, “sell all your shit and go on medicade”). Don’t worry though, cause you’re a fucking dog, you take orders and when you don’t listen we take you out behind a shed and put a shotgun shell into your brain. Who the fuck let these assholes on the TV box, and why the fuck are they ignoring this war.

He goes about how if we focus on production of one type of product without regard to the social implications it would be a dangerous step. It’s also fighting an unwinnable war, because the fight to produce and own content can overshadow the social ecology of the internet. He does a great job explaining all this, and you should totally watch him.

Ever wonder why cable keeps getting more expensive every year? Well, all the money you give to your cable companies really just subsidizes sports channels and Rupert Murdock. My roommate tells me he’s throwing in the towel on the cable, there isn’t a worse way to spend your money. I long for the day I can just give content that I like money, everything I watch on this list is near the bottom. Why should I only give 11 cents to something I watch all the time? 6 cents to the science channel, 8 cents to G4, syfy is up at 21 but I would so totally give each of these channels way more money for the content I get from them. This system is backwards.

The market concentration for health insurance is so monopolized in some areas that insurance companies are willing to raise prices and lose customers in an effort to improve their bottom line, a leading insurance broker told Wall Street analysts on Wednesday.

See, the “best health care system in the world” will drop out anyone who gets sick, obviously the weak ones, so in like 2-3 generations we’re going to have millions of super children that are impervious to bullets. That’s why it’s the best:

Do you want a public option?
Yes, duh, but you’re not going to get it, instead you’ll be forced to buy private insurance from a market that would be slightly more regulated. So instead of playing poker with our health care money we’re going to try our luck on the slot machines. There are interesting ways to get around this, if you’re low income (it doesn’t specify, just if you can prove you can’t afford *it*), for religious (my faith tells me my money can’t go to people who profit from death) or if you have enough money for a really really good accountant.
Do you like the current bill?
Which one, and being that the majority of the people commenting on this topic would only get their information from the news, and don’t read the actual legislation, the opinion of “liking” legislation is hyper sensitive. Someone doesn’t like a small provision, and being that they’re not publicly voting for the legislation in a leadership role, it’s easy to dismiss the entire thing with a single word. What you really should ask:

Is this bill going to move the country in the right direction?
Beyond any shadow of a doubt the bill currently being discussed is light years beyond what we currently have. What we currently have is 130+ people dying every single day because they lack health insurance. You can call the bill redistribution of wealth, because it is, but it’s to save lives, and it’s going about it with elected officials that we voted for passing legislation. If that’s not what democracy is supposed to fix, the death of innocent lives just so a few of us can live like kings, then what the fuck do you think government is supposed to you? You want to whine about how your money is being “stolen” from you to save lives and how that destroys your freedom, WHAT ABOUT THE FREEDOM OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO DIED IN THE NAME OF PROFIT. Obama’s bill might not be perfect, it might not even be a little liberal, but I think this bill needs to pass and it needs to pass now. Then congress needs to fix the rest of our economy, because we can’t spend a year an a half on health care and get nothing, and we don’t deserve to lose the entire function of our government because no one can agree that 130 people dying a day is any kind of a problem.

If 130 people died in terrorist attacks in America, daily, this country would be frantic trying to stop them by any means necessary. We’d be bending over backwards giving up everything we don’t have just to make it stop. But when those 130 people are low income, or have some kind of preexisting condition, or it’s to help people working 40 hours a week who would still face bankruptcy if they actually got sick, we claim it’s too hard, or too expensive, or that their lives aren’t worth it, we have to pay off the money we didn’t want to give to the banks and let hundreds of people die because we just can’t help people who are suffering (plus, they should be helping themselves, find your own damn cure for cancer asshole this cure is mine!). Pass this bill and let’s move on, I know it’s not perfect, but I want a new congress, one with strict campaign finance reform laws, to take up this issue in the future. It’s too important to the lives of people who want to live to delay any further just because this bill not my wet dream, it’s not a nightmare, it’s far superior to killing innocent life in the name of profit, and frankly I’d find something to complain about regardless. The health care budget is going to explode this government without reform, we’re going to be redistributing wealth regardless of our actions, we can either do it in a manner that saves and improves lives WITH THIS BILL, or we can do nothing and watch our income redistribute into the least successful health care possible. There are no other options.

The IOC is the most pathetic group in charge of anything (although they still do more than our congress). I mean it in the most sincere way, knowing that it’s a group of people and not just a single person calling the shots. It doesn’t get more comical than condemning the celebration of a gold medal because some hockey players had some drinks and smokes AFTER THEY WERE DONE on the ice. I’m still confused if the IOC was more mad at the celebration on their property, in their uniforms, with their medals around their neck, or if the IOC thinks smoking and drinking should be banned because we might give kids the wrong idea to celebrate after accomplishing something (or at least just do it with a carb overload omg).

Hey, speaking of giving kids the wrong idea, what happened to that bobsled guy? OH RIGHT, he fucking died, and the IOC went into overdrive to not only clean up the mess (oh wow…no pun intended) but insure that no one else would bring up the fact that THEIR COURSE IS A DEATH TRAP. Well, maybe not trap, and not instant death, but they were so quick to dismiss the idea that the track is the problem, blamed it all on the “inexperienced (of course they’d never use this exact word)” athlete and started it all back up again. Maybe the IOC doesn’t care about life at all, they probably value…umm…livers more?

It’s no different than their knee jerk reaction to Phelps smoking a bong, that performance enhancing marijuana he was smoking really destroyed our world. I can’t even look at myself in the mirror knowing Olympic athletes celebrate when they’re not dedicating their entire life to preparing for these games. The IOC has no respect for sports, they have no respect for human life and they have no morals. They have made up morals, that people tell them to feel, and the IOC follows along like a good little sheep. They’re told to value the corporate image of the Olympics above all else, and it’s disgusting, it makes me want to vomit. They act so quickly to denounce that Olympic athletes are real people, treating them like some kind of caged animal. Maybe I’m just the PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Athletes) member who wants to break into the Olympics to free all the athletes from their shackles. What happens if I’m too late? How many more minds and bodies will this cult sacrifice in the name of Coke and Visa?

I was thinking of a few different scenarios where majority always ruled in the past but now that white males aren’t in the majority anymore there’s challenges all over the place. The Senate needs 60 votes to get everything done, but when white males were the majority (although I think they still hold a majority in the senate) the new majority is 3/5ths, and anything less is tyranny…of the majority.

The other thing I was thinking about, Initiative 960 in Washington, where Tim Eyeman wanted a super majority for our state senate to get anything $$ related done. Tim had no problems with the majority when people he liked were in power, but now they he’s not in power, his only goal is to limit the power of the majority.

It reminds me of that fox news clip where the host says something to the effect of “white people need to have more babies hurry up!!”. They didn’t listen, or maybe they did they just laughed like I did. I find it odd, instead of trying to build a working majority, like the democrats obviously have had a hard time doing, they spend all their time demonizing democracy. It makes me think these “conservative values” are anything but in the majority and their only way to get power is fear, it’s a ruse they play until they can suck all the power out of our system. The republicans planned this election cycle out, bankrupt medicare, bankrupt the country, bankrupt social security and hope they American people give it all up for the sake of the budget they broke. Then, when the democrats try to fix it, just say no to everything, claim their majorities are crushing you (and why oh why would anyone have voted out the congress that spend 12+ trillion dollars they didn’t have!!!) and that you’ll fix everything when you get a simple majority, which will not be tyranny because they’re white and male.

I think more importantly than the guy standing up at the conservative convention calling out for BIG government to stand in-between 2 people who love each other is the lady following who claims “everyone’s entitled to their own opinion”. No fucking shit lady, and if that opinion is that where they government should be in the business of denying marriage licenses on the basis of sexual orientation you’re taking away the freedom of people you disagree with, and everyone at that conference had every right to yell and scream until they were blue in the face. I don’t understand how someone can claim to be a conservative yet want the government to get so involved in our personal lives, it seems like they want to take away the services you need (social security, medicare) and replace them with services that only protect white hertro (well sometimes) males, like their ever growing hard on for the use of the word tax-cut (though I’ve never lived under a republican president that lowed my taxes at all).

The entire conference was a joke, just another circle jerk for the corporate imperialist wing of the party who all salivated at the idea of Cheney speaking. More war, less freedom, and lower taxes for the wealthy, the wealthy who have dominated in terms of income growth and paying less taxes for the last 8 years.

Between 2001 and 2007, the 400 richest taxpayers doubled their annual incomes to an average of $345 million, while their effective tax rate plummeted to only 16.6% from 29.4% in 1993.

Regularly it’s called this horrible “redistribution of income”, but if the private market fails to provide us with what we need, which happens regularly because of how evil money is, than it’s government’s job to fix it. And this montra from the republicans to cut spending? FUCK YOU, raise taxes. The top 10% aren’t even paying 30%, which is far less progressive than the 75-80% during WW2. This country is in the middle of 3 wars, a private health care system that’s gouging customers to death on a daily basis, crumbing infrastructure and the republicans only tool is to protect the top 10% wealthiest people in this nation from providing the people of it’s country what they need to live. So much for country first.

If you don’t like the 30% tax rate to the point where you think it’s tyrannical to take 30% of someone’s yearly $400,000, who said you’re forced to work in the United States? If you truly feel it’s tyrannical to live in a country where the taxes fix the problems of society why put up with it? It’s been happening since the birth of the nation, where they subsidized newspapers on the backs of the rich, or when Bush Sr. fixed the acid rain problems with cap and trade (although global warming is way different from the rhetoric they make you think cap and trade itself is a radical idea). If you think all taxing things leads to the destruction of your freedoms take a quick look at our national debt, do you ever think it’s going to stop? Unless you find a way for every nation to crash that debt will need to be taxed out of us, and if you stay in this country it will be taxed out of you. America, for the person who thinks the majority of taxation (as a “strong national defense” is always the exclusion) is wrong, should hurry up and find a new country to live in. Maybe they just think that bankers, who make money off nothing more than having it, should get more protection from the government, that government is getting in the way of these bankers scamming their customers, and instead of fixing any problem we should give them more money to play casino with, which will create magic jobs [for computers]. Never mind the hungry, the homeless, the jobless, just let them keep more of the fictitious money they’re earning at the fictitious job they’ll never get and they’ll live happily ever after in a drug induced coma. Oh but they have freedom [except to marry gay, do drugs, or embrace science], I mean that’s what they all need right, freedom? and liberty? Great fucking lot that is when you’re eating the guy next to you just to sustain, at least he has the freedom to be a cannibal, how liberating that must be.

Moments after, and for many weeks after, a failed terrorist attack late December took the media by storm. At a moment’s notice we were asked to shred our liberty for security, to look at our gonads at the airport because you might have exploding privates, to go to war with Yemen! The media was quick to disillusion people, oh it’s harmless (except for that radiation), it’ll totally work (it can’t stop inside butt bombs), it’s necessary! Without looking at your gonads at the airport this country would surely plunge into chaos and all planes would light on fire. Oh, and it’s all Obama’s fault for being the worst Kenyan president we’ve ever had, he’s capturing Taliban military commanders instead of pandering to the right! We’re all at risk!

Then a crazy man flies his plane into an IRS building after lighting his home on fire and leaving a suicide note on the internet. He felt like he had no options, and that violence was the only way to make political change, and this somehow isn’t considered terrorism. You know why the media doesn’t care? He was a poor business man desperately trying to make it in this country and the media desperately wants to ignore why this is really happening. Our country spend seconds, if not milliseconds, in deciding to give billions to rich people who purposefully destroyed this economy for their own personal game and Washington has done nothing but sit on it’s hands and claim they’re powerless to do anything for it’s people. It’s crazy to think this man is alone in his ideas, or that he’s somehow alone in his belief that violence will solve anything. McVeigh thought that way too and look what he did, considering the economy right now there’s probably millions of us in the exact same economic situation this guy is in, worked hard for all his life and in the end, he’ll end up living off cat food. You think for one minute he regrets what he did? More importantly than if he regrets, because he’s obviously a psychopath, is why he doesn’t regret. Because the life he envisioned, the life that was sold to him by America, was cruel and unusual punishment. To consider this a one time crazy belief is naive and dangerous, this country is at the fucking brink and all people like Evan Byah and Sarah Palin can do is quit. Who the fuck elected these quitters and how do we fix this mess.

We can start with the underlining issue in his suicide note. That rich people are allowed unlimited protections for their money, they’re allowed every tax break loophole because they can afford it, they can pay slave wages and fire union supporters, and that finally people who make money off nothing more than having money ruin the social fabric of society. I will concede that investments are not the problem, because you’re putting your money into an object or idea, but that people who horde large sums of money just to watch the numbers go up on a computer screen preform absolutely no other function in this economy than to cause problems. The media would never cover any of these ideas, it’s why in the 21st century the TV box is irrelevant unless you feel sick and you’d like to be told over and over again how you can fix the problems you likely don’t have. If the media took but a few moments to address the real issue in this country, how our government for the last X decades has attacked working people and given the little money they make to people who make more money from interest than I’ll ever see in my lifetime.

This doesn’t feel like the United States of America anymore, it’s the United Rich of Incorporation. The people have no say in this government, and unless we address this issue, that politics works against people, a whole mess more of people are going to get the impression that flying a plane into a building is better than having to sustain yourself on cat food when you “retire”. I will not let fear get the best of me, but I fear for us humans..

That’s some kind of conservatomic bomb at the republican party, not that he’s relevant, I’m really hoping we get rid of McCain next cycle.

Speaking of parties, Minority leader Mitch McConnell spent 18 minutes crying on the senate floor, about someone who the comment section suggests is/was a butt buddy. How much are we paying him to spew this shit? I want a refund.
